Switch and save

Compared to their previous insurers' premiums, our South Australian car insurance customers told us they saved an average of $### by switching to Budget Direct.

It helps explain why Canstar has awarded us their national Outstanding Value Car Insurance award for a record 12 years in a row, from 2007 to 2018.

Assessments and repairs

In South Australia, you can get your vehicle’s damage assessed by:

  • one of our selected repairers, or
  • a local repairer (if there isn’t a selected repairer near you).

Afterwards, we’ll – for your convenience – appoint a repairer and manage the whole repair process on your behalf.

Roadside Assistance

For $79.95 a year – about $1.60 a week – you can take advantage of our 24/7, nationwide Roadside Assistance service.

Whether you’re left high and dry near the Rundle Mall or in the Barossa Valley, our South Australian network of roadside contractors means you’re never too far from help.

Compulsory third party (CTP) insurance

All vehicles in Australia must have CTP cover before they can be registered and legally driven on the road; motorists pay for this cover either as part of their vehicle registration fee or separately.

In some states and territories, there is only one approved provider of CTP insurance; South Australia is one of the jurisdictions in which motorists can choose a provider.

For more information, visit the Compulsory Third Party (CTP) Regulator website.

Accident towing

In most cases, we can arrange for our customers’ undriveable cars to be towed from an accident scene to the tow company’s yard and, in turn, to our motor-vehicle assessors and repairers.

However, residents of Adelaide are required by law to call a ‘centralised operator’, who will arrange the tow on their behalf.
