Award-winning Queensland car insurance
After comparing our comprehensive cover with that offered by other insurers in the state, Canstar awarded us their (one and only) Outstanding Value Car Insurance Queensland award in 2017 and 2018.
In 2019, Canstar declared us one of the state's top three comprehensive car insurers, based on price and features.
Choose your cover
With Budget Direct, you can select one of three types of car insurance:
Highly rated claims
Assessments and repairs
If your damaged vehicle is driveable, we’ll get you to take it to one of our network repairers for an assessment and repairs.
Alternatively, we may ask you to take your car to one of our two assessment centres, in Brisbane:
The assessments generally take about 15 minutes and we can even help find a repairer for you.
If there isn’t a network repairer or assessment centre near you, we’ll ask you to get your car assessed by a local repairer.
For your convenience, after your car’s damage has been assessed, and if we authorise the repairs, we may appoint a repairer and manage the whole repair process on your behalf.
Alternatively, you may be able to nominate your preferred repairer.
For $79.95 a year – about $1.60 a week – you can take advantage of our 24/7, nationwide Roadside Assistance service.
Whether you’re stranded in inner-city Brisbane or on the outskirts of Mt Isa, our Queensland network of roadside contractors means you’re never too far from help.
Compulsory Third Party (CTP) insurance
All vehicles in Australia must have CTP cover before they can be registered and legally driven on the road; motorists pay for this cover either as part of their vehicle registration fee or separately.
In some states and territories, there is only one approved provider of CTP insurance; Queensland is one of the jurisdictions in which motorists can choose a provider.
