Upgrade your cover
For an additional premium, you can customise your cover by adding one or more of these optional extras to your travel insurance policy:
Snow Sports Cover
Insures you for snow sports equipment, lift passes, ski packs, piste closures and avalanches.
Additional Specified Items Cover
Increase your level of cover for your valuables by listing them in your policy (Comprehensive and Annual Multi-Trip policies only).
Excess reduction or waiver
Halve your excess from the standard $200 to $100; or get it waived and pay no excess.
Overseas medical and emergency assistance

Frequently asked questions
When should I get cover for my trip?
As soon as you you’ve booked and paid for some or all of your trip. That way, if you’re forced to cancel your trip, you’ll be covered (conditions apply to cancellations – please see the PDS for full details).
What documents can I expect to receive to confirm I’m insured?
Immediately after you’ve paid for your policy, we’ll email you:
- your insurance certificate, which will show your selected level of cover and travel destination/s
- a product disclosure statement, which tells you everything you need to know about your policy
- a link to register an online account so that you can manage your travel insurance policy at your convenience.

What’s not covered?
We do not cover certain situations and circumstances, including:
- failure to get relevant innoculations or vaccinations
- errors or omissions in your travel bookings
- incidents involving drugs or alcohol
- loss of luggage and personal effects left unattended
- countries listed as ‘Do not travel’ on the federal government’s Smartraveller website
- certain pre-existing medical conditions
- medical expenses incurred in Australia (which are already covered by Medicare or your private health insurer).
Do you cover pre-existing medical conditions?
Yes – we cover 27 pre-existing medical conditions. If your pre-existing medical condition is not covered, rest assured that you would still be covered for any unforeseen medical expenses not related to your condition.
I’m pregnant – can I get cover?
You can get cover for complications of pregnancy and childbirth (as opposed to common symptoms such as morning sickness and back pain). You can claim for:
- overseas medical and hospital fees (not applicable to Domestic Cover)
- cancellation and amendment fees, if:
- you fall pregnant after buying your travel insurance policy and you’ll be more than 32 weeks pregnant (or 26 weeks if you’re expecting more than one baby) at the start of, or during, your trip; or
- your doctor advises that you’re unfit to travel.
