Injured in a car accident?

  1. If possible, get the registration (licence plate) numbers of the vehicles involved in the accident, including the vehicle driven by the person you believe is most at fault.
  2. Report the accident to the police within 28 days and obtain an ‘event number’.
  3. See your doctor and get a certificate of fitness.
  4. Lodge your claim with the at-fault driver’s CTP insurer as soon as possible.
