If you’re not with Budget Direct you’re probably paying too much for car and home insurance, according to the findings of the Money magazine 2014 Best of the Best awards.
Budget Direct won Gold in the two highly competitive insurance categories of Cheapest Car Insurance and Cheapest Home and Contents insurance, at the 2014 awards.
Budget Direct is incredibly proud to have once again been judged as offering exceptional value insurance in Australia by Money magazine, says Ram Kangatharan CEO Auto & General (which underwrites Budget Direct’s policies). In 2010 Budget Direct took out the Cheapest Home and Contents Insurance category, and was also named Insurer of the Year by Money magazine.
“As an alternative, low-cost insurance provider Budget Direct is giving Australians real choice and value,” says Mr Kangatharan.
“Customers are saving hundreds of dollars by making the switch to Budget Direct. New online customers report saving on average $251 on their Car Insurance, and Home and Contents customers an average of $316.*
“While our insurance is clearly judged the cheapest, customers aren’t missing out on service as we are continually working on making our insurance even better value.”
To demonstrate this commitment to service, this year Budget Direct launched Policy Manager which enables customers to update their policies online, as well as get quotes on additional insurances. Budget Direct motor customers also benefit from Hail Hero, an SMS service which alerts them to damaging hail so they have time to move their car out of harm’s way.
After selling its first policy in Australia in 2000, Budget Direct has grown from strength to strength and has appeared in Money magazine’s Cheapest Car Insurance category every year since 2007.
*Reported by new online customers between 01/05/2013 and 31/10/2013. Car Insurance reported average saving was from a count of 1260 records, Home and Contents reported average saving was from a count of 271 records. Individual circumstances and policy terms may vary.
